Background

With a runtime of 4:03 (3:45 for radio edits), "Cosmic Girl" is a space disco song. The lyrics of the track invoke a space-like environment, with terms such as "star-trekking", "laser beamed me with her cosmic eyes", "scanning all my radars", etc. Aside from all the space metaphors, the track describes Jay Kay encountering an attractive lady at a dance club, describing her as otherworldly and being drawn to her. Physical release include the tracks "Slipin' 'N' Slidin'", a funk instrumental b-side and "Didjitial Vibrations", a didgeridoo instrumental with atmospheric instruments and light harmonizing from Kay.
